I love BellyBar and you should too

Okay, I rarely do product placement unless the product I’m placing is something I’m really, really in favor of and today is one of those days.

BellyBar

I first discovered BellyBar at a Walgreens in St. Louis with my mom.  I spotted the pink box on a shelf with the vitamins.  The name was cute – Baby Needs Chocolate – and the price was low.  I mulled over the ingredients and the nutrition information and decided to purchase.

Boy, was I happy I did.  I was then addicted to BellyBar.  We always had a box of them in the house throughout the entirety of my pregnancy.  When I spotted the Citrus on Board Chews at Babies R Us and the Vanilla Dreams Shakes at Destination Maternity, my husband joked that we needed to take out stock in the company.

Here’s what’s so great about their food – it’s wonderfully, nutritionally balanced for the pregnant, nursing and/or postpartum mom.  Actually, I would recommend these to all women, pregnant or not.  Yes, the DHA and Folate are more geared for baby nourishment, but everything else is so healthy for any woman.  These aren’t diet bars or meal replacements or anything faddish like that.  These are healthy snacks that just taste awesome and are packed with all the vitamins your body needs without tasting like one of those health bars.  (You know who you are…)

This is a way for you to satisfy your chocolate craving without caving in and having something unhealthy like ice cream or a candy bar.  This is also ideal for the postpartum mom whose body is still trying to rebalance itself nutrition-wise after dedicating so much energy and vitamins to the baby.  And, as I said, while its geared towards the pregnant and nursing woman, any woman would benefit from their food because of the way the nutrition is balanced.

I always have a BellyBar in my purse for those times where I get munchy and just want to snack on something.  The shakes are good for breakfast.  The chews are great for desserts – they taste like Starburst.  Seriously.

I haven’t tried their vitamins yet, but I would love to.

And if things couldn’t be any better, when I asked where I could find a particular flavor of bar, I was told that they were discontinuing it and releasing a new flavor instead, but if I were to send them my address, they’d see if they had any lying around their offices.

I got two boxes of them in the mail yesterday.  Not two boxes like the average consumer buys with 5 bars in the box.  No, I got two boxes of what retail would get to have the fancy display – big boxes.

I’m in Chocolatey Orange BellyBar heaven right now…

So, if you or someone you know is pregnant, nursing, or has just had a baby, then get them a box of bars, a carton of shakes or a bag of chews.  You will love them!

** Disclaimer:  BellyBar did not ask me or pay me to write a rave review about their products.  I wrote this of my own volition because I simply love the food and think you should, too.
