Those of you who follow me here and on twitter know all about my love affair with babywearing.  I wear Olivia all the time in slings and wraps; around the house; out running errands; on walks; everywhere.  Stephen has even been known to wrap her on his back while he makes dinner or throw her in a sling when she’s being super fussy and I need a break.  There’s just something so incredibly wonderful about wrapping your baby to your body – an undeniable closeness and safety.

Today, I have the wonderful opportunity to share with you a new wrap from my absolute most favorite carrier-maker, BabyEtte.  I’ve had her button in my sidebar for a while and, personally, I own two of her slings (a basic cotton and a fancy silk) and three of her wraps (two gauze and one handloomed).  Beth makes all of her carriers in her home while mothering four children and currently baking a fifth!  Every single carrier I’ve received has been so incredibly well-made.  I’m always impressed and I never fail to receive smiles and compliments from people when I use them.

My newest one?

May I present to you the brand new Tibet Jacquard Handloomed Baby Wrap!

[cue fanfare and ticker tape]

Guys?  This might be my new favorite wrap.  Seriously.

The details:

This is a cotton wrap that is handloomed (not by a machine) in Nepal and is fair-trade.  Win. Win. Win.

Beth worked with the suppliers to come up with the Jacquard design for the wrap and this is, hopefully, the first of many to come through her shop.

I will be buying each one.

Olivia is 10 months old and 25 pounds.

Yes.  She is.

The wrap itself?

Super soft.  Like insanely soft.  Like ethereal soft.  And it gets softer and tightens up to the length you order (mine is 5 yards) after washing.

And, as a little surprise gift? She sent a doll wrap for when Olivia is old enough to babywear her dolls and animals.  I cannot wait and will be taking [many] photos.

Back to the wrap.

I took it with me on my visit to South Carolina to visit Keli.  She petted and fawned over the wrap when I pulled it out of my bag.  When we went on our walk, I slung Olivia on my back and instantly fell in love.

The wrap is very thin and very lightweight with a [little bit] of diagonal give.  Actually, the amount of give would make this wrap perfect for use with a newborn as the little give makes it grippy and clingy but it’s not stretchy enough to sag or be dangerous as the baby gains weight.

The thinness of it makes it perfect for warm weather, but you could also pair this with a Babywearing Poncho in cooler weather and it would be the perfect combination.

And the softness?  Have I mentioned the softness?  It’s like wrapping my baby in a handloomed cloud.  There was [no] biting into my shoulders at any point and I had her up there for well over an hour.

Olivia loved it.  She snuggled down and stayed quiet the whole time and, eventually, fell asleep against my back.  That is my absolute most favorite thing about babywearing – the sleeping.

This particular wrap is not available through her Etsy shop as you can custom order your length and, being limited in quantity, is pre-order only (she’s taking the second round of orders now).  As such, you can order it through her personal website: http://www.babyette.net/

It is worth the price.  Every penny.

I cannot recommend this wrap enough.  If you can get another wrap, buy this one.  If you know someone having a baby or who needs to babywear, buy them this.  This would make a beautiful shower gift.

Meanwhile?

We are going to go for a walk in our new snuggly wrap and have some quality mama-daughter time…

Note: This review was written simply because I love this wrap so much and have always had a great experience with BabyEtte that I wanted to show it to my readers.  I bought this wrap with my own money and have received no reimbursement or free goods from BabyEtte in exchange for this review.  I just love this wrap and I want you to love it, too.
