Something has happened on Twitter.

Inside jokes.

Hilarity.

Commiserating.

Kindred souls.

I have made some really awesome friends.  And it’s [fantastic].

Four of them are on Etsy and have [amazing] shops and well-written blogs and are some of the best people to Tweeter with.

BabyEtte

You have heard me wax poetic about Beth before.  I own four of her creations – 2 ring slings and 2 wraps – and I [love love love] them so much.  I am constantly stopped and asked about them whenever I’m out babywearing.  Olivia loves to snuggle up in them so much that she’s starting to recognize them and squeals happily when she sees me get one out.  I cannot tell you how much I love babywearing or how many times it’s saved my sanity or allowed me to get things done around the house.

Create Beauty Daily

Cameron is such a sweet, wonderfully hilarious soul.  I swear in another life we were sisters.  Maybe even twins.  Her jewelry is gorgeous.  I don’t own anything personally (YET!) but I’ve purchased some as gifts and I’m always so pleased and so tempted to keep it for myself.

It’s [so hard] to give it away.

Julie Vision Designs

Julie is another hilarious twin-from-another-life (maybe she, Cameron and I were triplets…) and I adore, adore, [adore] her work.  Her clutches are beautiful, whimsical, and so special.  I wish I’d known about her shop when I was married because I would have purchased the bridal clutch in a heartbeat.

Now, I’m not normally a clutch type of gal.  The purses I carry are large.  Especially now that I have a baby and, sometimes, just don’t want to tote a diaper bag around.  But Julie’s clutches are so pretty; I want to collect them all.

The Little Big Vintage Shop

Ms. Ex Libris, which should be her real name in my humble opinion, has one of the funniest blogs I’ve read and equally hilarious tweets.  I only recently discovered her Vintage Shop of Awesome; however, I have my eye on a certain number of things that I pray will last through the holiday season so I can procure them after the new year.

No one touch that little Japanese Print, okay?  I’m calling dibs.

Today is a continuation of last Friday’s handmade awesomeness, showcasing a few of the wonderful things (and people) I’ve found while Christmas shopping this year.

Today’s theme is baby…

Of course, I have to stop myself from going overboard for Olivia.  It’s her first Christmas and I know that her grandparents are going to spoil her rotten.  Sites like Zulily, The Mini Social and Totsy are making it [way too easy] for me to follow suit.

But in my searches and random clicks through Etsy, I’ve stumbled across some wonderful little gems.  Some beautiful, some precious, some whimsy and some fun…

[clockwise]

Double Layer Crochet Flower Hair Clip with Brown Crochet Headband – I love headbands yet the only ones I have for Olivia are those little elastic ones that just look like they squeeze temples.  This looks soft and the width of it is [almost] like wearing a beanie.

sadie . eggplant (fabric flower headband) – Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.  The only issue would be I would want to wear it, too…

The Ivy Reversible Dress in LOVE – I just adore the name.  I adore everything about this dress.  I adore the butterfly.  I adore the little ties at the shoulders.  I adore the fun of it.  I want to see Olivia running around in this dress.

Cafe au Lait Banded Luxury Woven Baby Wrap – If you need wraps or ring slings, buy one from Beth.  Her products are not only extremely well-made but she is a genuinely wondrous soul.  I’m proud to call her my friend and I plan on owning [everything] she makes.

[clockwise]

Vintage Blue Checkered Romper – Yes, I [know] it’s “for a boy” but I don’t care.  I love blue and I love puppies and Olivia gets the [biggest] grin on her face when she sees our dog soI want this for her.

Linen Baby Dress – This is one of the only times I wish I could fast forward to Olivia being about 2 years old so I could dress her in these types of dresses.  Then she would run around barefoot outside, tumbling in the grass, jumping in leaves, splashing in puddles and I wouldn’t care that the dress was getting dirty.  All I would care is that she’s my baby and she’s beautiful and she’s having fun.

Chunky Monkey Crochet Flapper – Cute, cute, cute, and omg the ears…

Gathered Peasant Dress – I love how simple and beautiful this is.  And it says Christmas to me [and] Spring for some reason.  Again with the imagination… running, jumping, rolling…

I would love to know what treasures you’ve found in the world of handmade this year.  Are you having a handmade Christmas?

I really like feeling pretty.  Even if the only people to see me that day are my baby and husband, I like the feeling of how I look when my hair is fixed and [maybe] a little touch of eye makeup.  Lately, I’ve been feeling so run down and exhausted.  I’m battling a cough and sore throat.  Olivia has a cough.  Today, Stephen mentioned he felt a tingle in his throat.

So I’ve been cleaning.  And baking.  And doing everything I can to make sure my family gets/stays healthy and happy.  And, every once in a while, I take the time to fix my hair.

Or put on a bit of pink eye shadow.  Or a dash of mascara.

Because I can.  And it makes me smile.

I mentioned before that this Christmas is about 95% brought to this family by the likes of Etsy and other handmade awesomeness.

Over the next few Fridays, I’m going to show you guys a few of my favorite things.  Today is about pretty.  Pretty on me, pretty around me.

Things that would make me smile.

[clockwise]

boho embroidered hippie dress – I’m a hippy at heart and, when I saw this, it made my heart smile.  I want to braid my hair and put on a flowy skirt and run around barefoot, picking flowers.

Dream a Little Dream Necklace – I love [everything] Cameron makes and I fiercely love this woman in general.  We all have dreams that we haven’t attained or even given up on for whatever reason.  This necklace reminds me to keep dreaming.  Keep dreaming until the very, very end.

Time in Paris Pillow – I’ve never been to Paris but I’ve always wanted to go.  Meanwhile, I want to start decorating my house with some whimsy.  This and the coffee house pillow are my whimsy.

Beige Cute Delicate Mohair Gloves – These are just simply [pretty].  And I want to wear them while running errands.  It would be my version of high heels to the grocery store.

[clockwise]

Pumpkin Spice Cloche Hat – I’ve always loved this style of hat.  I want to roll my hair in a bun at the nape of my neck, a little off-center, and wear this hat out to lunch with a friend.  Or just tea.

Live Laugh Love – An excellent reminder to go in my bedroom in such a place that it be the first thing I see when I wake up.

Ivory Leg Warmers – That whole barefoot picking flowers thing?  Well, these would be on my ankles.

Memoirs of a Handbag – Julie is another awesome soul whom I love fiercely.  I’m pretty much in love with every clutch she makes but this one.  This one speaks to me on so many levels that would take way too long to write out here.  But it has to do with the book, and water, and the way life can change unexpectedly.

I realize that by showing you guys these things, someone will go, “Oh, I love that!  I’m going to buy it!”  And it will be gone forever.

That’s actually okay with me.  Any support of handmade is a win in my book.

Even though I’d prefer it if they ended up under my Christmas tree.
